The butterfly exhibit had officially ended when we visited the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus last fall. But it’s not like you can just go in and collect up all your butterflies to send along to the next exhibit when the current one comes to an end, so there were still a few around to enchant and entertain us.

They don’t seem to move very fast until you are trying to photograph them!

This is my contribution to Travel Photo Thursday at Nancie’s Budget Traveler’s Sandbox. Flit on over for photos from around the world.

I like that line, “It’s not like you can collect up all your butterflies…” Your photos are beautiful, and even the butterflies that wouldn’t stay still add a sense of motion to the shot. I’m glad you had a chance to see them.
I’m pretty happy with the shots I got, but, wow, did I take a lot of shots to get them!!
Cindy, I think it’s hard to get good butterfly shots and you did a great job. Love the exit sign.
:-)
HI Cindy, it’s great you were able to catch some of the butterflies left. Great macro shots! ;They look so alive. I like the shot of the one flying away..
They were an unexpected treat. That’s my favorite shot of them too.
Hi Cindy, your pictures are stunning! Must have been difficult to photograph these butterflies, really beautiful.
Thanks!
Great photos. I have tried photographing the Dunk Island Blue butterfly in my garden quite a lot but they don’t stay still for long enough!
Isn’t it amazing how quickly they move? I think it’s the unpredictability of their flight that makes it hard to photograph them. At least in your garden you should get a few chances at them!
Aaaah that’s a fun tour, i love going to places like this and capturing nature at its best…. I wanted to also invite you to come join us and link up to Travel Photo Mondays, the link starts on Mondays and runs the whole week, hope you can make it?
Thanks. I’ll shoot for the coming week to join you!
