We have an assignment, but are in need of good locations for shooting, so we wander around (rather aimlessly) for awhile.
Along the way we come to an interesting-looking church.
Obviously the Church of San Domenico has seen a few changes over time.
I wonder how old it is and what it is like inside. I’ve already had to walk past one church this morning that was beckoning me – no reason to miss out on another. I team up with a classmate and head inside.
This one is pretty simple inside, with one long nave and no real side chapels and little detail. However, Maury speaks enough Italian to get us invited into the lower level, which has lovely ancient floors.
I wish the walls could speak.
