May flowers at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden

(Last Updated On: November 23, 2020)

My own garden is starting to look as if it were actually spring, so I thought it would be a good day to see what was in bloom at Eloise Butler Wildflower Gardens in Minneapolis. This garden is always an oasis of beauty and calm and today is no different.

Although you can hear the sounds of traffic in the distance, the loudest sounds are those of the insects and frogs.

Of course, I’m mostly here for the flowers!

And the flowers are wonderful, with a few white dog-tooth violets,

the last of the bloodroot,

clouds of delicate hepatica,

several hillsides covered with yellow trout lilies,

trilliums with wild foliage that are just about ready to burst into bloom,

skunk cabbages,

marsh marigolds,

and plenty of moss!
