The Rio Grande wanders through Albuquerque and the cottonwood forest along its bank is known as the Bosque. It’s mostly a natural area, but restoration is on-going and (along with non-native invasive plants) there are still remnants of the metal flood fence that was supposed to protect adjacent property from flood-born debris. (Apparently this is no longer needed and is being removed.) A bike trail runs along here, but it is also a pleasant place simply to wander on a sunny afternoon.
