Below the Lift Bridge, Duluth, Minnesota

Last updated on April 28th, 2024

Like most visitors to Duluth, the first thing we do after checking in to our hotel is to head down to the waterfront.

Our timing is excellent, as soon the lift bridge rises and a large laker moves into position to make it’s way out of the inner harbor and into the lake.

Despite being a 1000 feet in length, the Edwin Gott cruises by us in no time at all.

These big ships are just amazing. I think it would be cool to be the bridge operator and watch them coming and going all day (and night) long.
