Seattle Space Needle

Last updated on August 1st, 2024

I’ve probably been in Seattle a half-dozen times or more over the 20 or so years that Michele has lived here, but in all that time I’ve never actually gone up in the Space Needle. It hasn’t been all that much more recently that Michele herself has been there, so she’s game and we head over to the Seattle Center to get in line.

As might be expected on a lovely weekend day, there’s a bit of a line, but it goes pretty quickly and soon we are in the elevator, making our 82 second ascent (there must be a breeze now, since the elevators can go almost twice that speed) to the Needle’s viewing platform 520 feet above the ground.

The views are great.
