The days leading up to Christmas aren’t exactly prime beach time in California. However, since we were in the area and had never been to any of the coastal communities south of Los Angeles, we thought we should at least take a look.

That is how we ended up walking along the beach in the city of Laguna Beach on a beautifully sunny December day.
The surfers were already wrapping it up for the morning.
(As were the pigeons.)
The beach was quiet. . .
But not entirely deserted.
