Happy Hour on Lake Vermilion in northern Minnesota

Last updated on March 3rd, 2024

It’s too nice an evening to spend Happy Hour on shore, so we head for the pontoon to take a tour of this section of Lake Vermilion.

This allows us to share the evening with a pair of juvenile bald eagles, several families of loons, and a whole gaggle of mergansers.

(The mergansers are funny, as first we see a long line of them swimming away along the shore and then, when we came around a bend, we found an even larger group basking in a sunny cove.)

Mostly we share the evening with lots of trees and water.

But it all makes for a very enjoyable Happy Hour.
