I often notice gas stations when I travel (particularly when I don’t actually have a vehicle, and so have no need for one). I’m guessing this is a remnant of my time as a land use planner for a transportation agency (gas stations and highways are generally found in close proximity), but it could also be part of the family attraction to all things automotive. Or it could just be a weird quirk.

Whatever the reason, I tend to notice gas stations. So here is a small sampling of the gas stations I saw while cruising on the Mekong in southern Vietnam.
