Grey Abbey is along Strangford Lough.
So too is Mount Stewart, a stately manor house surrounded by magnificent gardens.
I was here with Michele in 2004 and have been eager to return ever since. That visit was on a damp day in early spring – today couldn’t be more different, with blue skies and intense sunshine.
The gardens are different today too, since early spring has long since passed and the summer flowers are coming into bloom. What hasn’t changed is the beauty of the place. It’s so very lovely.
