Restoration of the Monastery of Saint Anthony

Last updated on April 11th, 2024

The Egyptian government has undertaken the restoration of the ancient Coptic Christian Monastery of Saint Anthony (Deir Mar Antonios).

Along with restoration of the structures and paintings, the work includes uncovering and making visible the monks’ cells and work areas beneath the floor of the church. It appears that they have done a wonderful job.
