We again awaken to a sparkling blue sky. A beautiful morning awaits outside our door!
While you might expect a behemoth like Denali would be visible wherever you are in this part of Alaska, the mountain is a bit elusive even on a clear day — you can’t actually see it anywhere near the park entrance, so, as we head south out of the park, our views are of smaller, but still lovely peaks.
Of course, we’re equally fond of the sight of the foxtails that line the road. (We’re easy.)
Then, quite suddenly Denali is visible, almost floating above the highway.
Wow!
Mile after mile we travel along the edge of the Alaska Range.
It is a stunning drive.
