My friend Jeff has recommended we visit the church of Saint Séverin, another Medieval beauty that is an easy stop on the way back to our hotel.
As we enter, the sound of the magnificent organ floats in the air until it is lost somewhere in the soaring space above us. Like the church itself, the sound is both powerful and delicate.
There are few visitors here and I relish the peace. It is a pleasure just to sit and watch the colored light streaming through the windows before melting in the dark interior. The windows are a mix of traditional and modern glass, but somehow the mix seems just right.
