One good reason to forget about the wonderful campgrounds in Joshua Tree National Park itself is Spin and Margie’s Desert Hide-A-Way.

We have a wonderful room with a funky 50s vibe and a private patio complete with barb wire sculpture.

I’ve been eager to return here at the end of the day, to sit in the patio or under the trees amid the distinctly western art and wildlife.

There are also wonderful views of the mountains, which I check first thing in the morning and as the last thing before night falls.
