Every year I develop one or more fanciful Christmas cards based on my travels.

Here’s what those have looked like through the years:

Christmas 2017

Christmas 2016

Christmas 2015

ancient Japanese bridge decorated for Christmas

(My imagining what the ancient Japanese bridge in Hoi An, Vietnam, might look like decorated for Christmas.)

Christmas 2014

Happy Holidays to you wherever you may be, but especially to those of you celebrating the holidays in Tulum, Mexico, or Canada’s Yoho National Park!

(Let me know if you run into any of these Christmas well-wishers!)

Christmas 2013

(My imaginary take on what the ever-present birds of Essaouira are up to at this time of year.)

Christmas 2012

From Turkey, I offer both the sublime

and the silly

And from the Seychelles

Christmas 2011

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2007

Christmas 2006

Christmas 2005

We traveled to Botswana on safari in 2005, so a few of the animals we saw there made it onto the Christmas card.
