(Last Updated On: March 23, 2019)It seems too soon to leave Cape Town, but the open road beckons.

It feels good to be out on our own with our own car, traveling north through lush agricultural land.

We are headed to Namaqualand to see if there are still a few wildflowers in bloom. I wanted to take the scenic back route up, but we agreed that it made the most sense to get up there quickly as possible to have time to look at the flowers while the light was good; thus, we take the main highway instead.
We hit road construction as soon as we reach the mountains.
So much for the fast route!
Still, it is an interesting drive with a lot of variety.
