It is a lovely sunny day when we arrive in San Diego, so after a quick lunch (with margaritas) we wander around San Diego’s Old Town area for a bit.The area is a weird mix of kitschy shops, Mexican restaurants, and historic buildings tucked into an odd corner of modern San Diego, but it is a nice place for wandering about.
Mostly though, I’m fascinated by the agave and the other plants that flourish in every garden.
One peak into the courtyard at the Casa de Estudillo and I’m I love. This is how I want to live – in an open and airy house wrapped around a welcoming courtyard!
It’s not very practical for Minnesota, but certainly ideal in a Mediterranean climate like that of Southern California. Maybe we need to move. . .
Nearby the traditional-looking (completed in 1917) Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception provides a cool and quite respite from the surrounding shops.
