We walk to the convent at the Church of Santo Domingo.
While it is only a few short blocks from the plaza, I have not visited this place before and am surprised when we turn into a non-descript courtyard outside an almost equally unremarkable (but brightly painted) building beneath an pink and white confection of a steeple.
We quickly move inside and then on to a open courtyard that served as the cloister.
It is gorgeous.
The walkways and elaborate Spanish tiles lead us to a second courtyard, almost as lovely as the first.
Seemingly oblivious to the beauty and serenity of this place, the vendors outside focus on the monetary value of religious devotion. . .
