My husband’s relatives live in California and used to camp on the state’s beaches. One of their favorite spots was Morro Bay, so they told us we had to stop there on our way up the coast.
It was an easy request to comply with, so we made sure to pull off along the road where we would have a glimpse of the bay and its famous rock. From our perch we could easily see the rock bathed in the warm light of the afternoon sunshine.
It was an inviting scene, so we headed on down into town and on to the bay. . . . only to discover the rock now nearly obscured by fog.
