The week of July 4th is always Race Week in Bayfield, when the Wayzata Yacht Club holds a week of racing and social activities.
We don’t race, but it’s always fun to watch the boats make their run through the course. It’s especially fun on a still day (like today) when they have to use their spinnakers to make any headway at all. The spinnakers are usually brightly colored, making them visible over a long distance.
We’ve often seen them out on the water, but this is the first time I’ve seen them from shore. Here in Bayfield they practically come into the marina as they loop around the course!
