We spent the night anchored in Sand Bay on the Wisconsin mainland.
The radio monotonously broadcasts the near shore marine forecasts over and over again as we finish a late breakfast. As we sit on deck surrounded by the glassy waters of Sand Bay, the radio reminds us that the temperature is 71; that the surface water temperature varies between 38 and 61 degrees (depending on where you are, likely on the warmer end of that range here); and that the SE wind is at five knots or less, with waves of two feet or less. The radio announcer sums up the forecast simply:
“The wind is calm”
“The waves are calm”
“The sky is clear”
