Lunch carts in Portland, Oregon

Last updated on June 14th, 2021

I’m in a meeting all day today (yes, I’m actually here for work), but at lunch we all head across the street to a line of food “carts.”

There are lots of enticing options,

but I end up (on the advice of locals) at the Portland Soup Company.

The tomato-rosemary soup is truly divine.

Food carts seem to be an integral part of Portland’s foodie culture – so much so that there is at least one blog devoted solely to them. They are found in all parts of the city and everyone here seems to have their favorite(s). Since they tend toward good, fresh food priced at $4 or $5, they are an affordable everyday luxury.

I think Saint Paul needs some of these, preferably near the capital complex!
